What is sex discrimination under Title IX? How is it defined?

Sexual harassment is defined as unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature. Sexual harassment exists when any of the following occur:

Polk State College’s Title IX Coordinator oversees compliance with all Title IX related matters, including the handling of complaints. Additional contacts are the Director, Human Resources; Student Services Deans; Ombudsman; Campus Security; and the ADA Coordinator. These individuals will forward the complaints to the Title IX Coordinator.
